Hotel School students shine in Singapore

A group of Angliss International Hotel School students jetted off to Singapore for the first international study tour held by the school.

Thirty-nine students spent the week getting amongst the action of this vibrant city and exploring the sights on a cultural tour. Learning about the history, attractions and the diverse Singaporean culture.

A tour highlight was a visit to the luxurious Raffles Hotel, home to the famous Singaporean sling. Students enjoyed a Whisky Tasting masterclass and learnt about the refined tastes and processes of whiskey.

An interactive masterclass held at the award winning PARKROYAL Pickering, the first eco-friendly hotel in Singapore, about sustainability in hotel operations provided great insight into the growing importance of sustainability in the hotel industry.

Angliss International Hotel School Coordinator, Sheena D’Souza, said “the trip was an amazing opportunity for students to see first-hand, international service standards across several prestigious venues”.

“With so many potential career opportunities available in this dynamic industry, the students were inspired and excited about where their careers might take them”.

“The students did a wonderful job of representing William Angliss and we received excellent feedback on the professionalism and standard of the group”.

The study tour also included visits to the PANPACIFIC Hotel, Suntec Convention and Exhibition Centre, masterclass in Hotel Operations, Marketing and Revenue Software, the famous Gardens by the Bay and the William Angliss Institute, Singapore campus.
