Study tour concludes on a high note

Students have returned from their exciting Singapore study tour.

Conducted by Institute staff Carolyn Neilson and Sheena D’Souza, 19 Angliss International Hotel School students experienced a week of multicultural tours and luxury hotel masterclasses.

After an introductory Singapore Cultural tour, the group visited the local William Angliss Institute campus. Ian Nicolson Head of Human Resources & Finance gave a presentation on the history of the Institute and Megan Harris, Head of Sales & Marketing conducted a presentation detailing hotel business development. In conclusion Dany Bolduc gave a lecture on hotel operations, marketing and revenue software, Revinate.

As part of the study tour itinerary, the students experienced a number of exclusive Masterclasses. Held at the five star Pan Pacific Orchard Hotel the group learned about authentic Singaporean Laksa and how to make a Singapore Sling mocktail. They attended an interactive hotel tour and discussion on staff appreciation week at the Marriott Tang Plaza Hotel, and a sustainability and interactive hotel tour at the PARKROYAL on Pickering. To conclude they visited the Singapore Polo Club, during the National Dressage Competition and had the opportunity to tour the Polo Club, feed the ponies and learn about the Club’s history.

“For our students the highlight of the tour was vising the Marriott Tang Plaza Hotel, where we learnt about association appreciation week and the PARKROYAL on Pickering, focusing on luxury hotel sustainability,” Ms D’Souza said.
